First big summer spend?

David Moyes has to be a man in a hurry right now. Because if he survives as manager of Manchester United beyond this season he will have done so by the skin of his teeth.

7th in the title race and out of The Champions League until at least 2015 few could have expected things to go quite so badly for David Moyes in his first season as Manchester United manager.

But there have been portents, of late, that things are improving. The quality of performances has got better in the last two weeks and, although Manchester United were outclassed by Bayern on Wednesday, there was a real fighting spirit and togetherness from the team.

News circulating today is that Manchester United chairman Ed Woodward stayed on in Munich after the game to negotiate the release of midfielder Toni Kroos.

The Express says:

MANCHESTER UNITED have started negotiations with Bayern Munich over £40million midfielder Toni Kroos.

…the Red Devils are desperate to take advantage of Kroos’ contract stand-off with the German heavyweights and lure him to Old Trafford.

According to reports executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward remained in Munich overnight to discuss a move for Kroos.

Kroos played much of the game on Wednesday in a more withdrawn role. In the absence of Bastian Schweinsteiger he played as the anchor man and showed his flexibility with another fine display of top passing and composure.

Manchester United would certainly be a better team with him in it and, despite a reported price tag of £40m, at 24, this guy has 10 years of top service to give.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans – worth the money?

kroos, carvalho, gugogan to all arrive at united……moyes to thankfully be sacked early may before the next gaffer completes these signings.

to much damage has been done by moyes and his backwards dated methods, time for him and his loser coaches rounds, lumsden and woods to be removed and replaced with someone who knows something about modern day football
