One should take every transfer rumour with a pinch of salt these days of course. But this one does look very promising indeed if there is substance to it. One of Europe’s very hottest properties could be on his way to Arsenal.
We have all been crying out for Arsenal to sign at least one high-profile striker to add to their highly impressive squad. This summer will be a crucial time for Arsenal as they try to add such a player to the ranks.
Reports this morning suggest that they may well have found their man. The Metro reckons that the agent of Mario Mandzukic, the superb by Bayern Munchen striker, is in town for talks about a summer transfer to Arsenal. The Metro says:
Arsenal have been given a boost in the hunt for Mario Mandzukic after the striker’s agent arrived in London for talks over a summer transfer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a top class striker, and he is known to be a fan of Croatian international Mandzukic.
This guy has been absolutely on fire over the last twelve months. In fact his entire MO seems to be to score goals. He has done it with great regularity wherever he has played – 45 goals in 76 games for Bayern, 20 in 60 for Wolfsburg and 63 in 125 for Zagreb, before he came to Germnay. He’s a canny operator and the ultimate professional. He may not have lightning pace but he would be a super addition for Arsenal.
