Manchester United’s first summer signing?

Carvalho: Baby Faced Beast!

First summer signing?

We have only just crept into March but the Manchester United juggernaut of speculation has steamrollered its way onto the back pages yet again this morning.

We all know that Manchester United’s midfield is shot to pieces. Micheal Carrick has put in a seriously good stint in the engine room but is now 32. Darren Fletcher may represent the future of the coaching staff but not the the playing roster. And we would rather just have ‘space’ instead of selecting the beleaguered Tom Cleverley.

The Daily Mail reports this morning that Manchester United have identified their first major target for this summer and there is more than a whiff of youth about him.

Sporting Lisbon’s Patrick Vieraesque middle man William Carvalho is the subject of the gossip and The Mail reckons that Manchester United have actually begun to negotiate the summer transfer of the player.

Manchester United have opened talks with Sporting Lisbon about signing holding midfielder William Carvalho.

United manager David Moyes has identified the 21-year-old as a top target for the summer and it is understood United have now registered their interest with Sporting.

The report suggests that while there is a 35m Euro price on his head Manchester United try to snare him for just over the 30m mark.

We have to say that he looks like a really lovely player. He’s tall and elegant with the sort of effortless gait of a Yaya Toure. Manchester United can only hope that he turns out somewhere near as good. At 21 years of age he’s got his whole career ahead of him and after making his debut for Portugal last year he may well go to the World Cup. A couple of decent cameos and his price will rocket. So it makes sense to do the deal early.

If there is truth in the specco then we have to wholeheartedly applaud the move. Carvalho is a top player in the making – Fearless, box to box, technically brilliant and a commanding presence in the middle.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans – are your potatoes suitably boiled at the prospect?

I have been a United supporter since 1960s till date. The players mentioned are very good and I mean the likes of Toni Kroos and Gundogan. Therefore, it must not be like during January transfer period. United’s manager, David Moyes must not let millions of United’s fan down. Let him seriously go for these players menioned above for a strong midfied.

United’s manager David Moyes should seriously pursue Toni Kroos and Gundogan since these players have shown interest in order to strengthen the poorous midfield. Let’s be serious for ones.
