Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been linked with the transfers of many players players over the last twelve months as media outlets speculate about the final pieces in the jigsaw at The Emirates. Most of the rumours have been about attacking midfielders.
So it will come as a relief to some to hear that, according to recent reports, Arsenal have made a winger their top target for the summer.
Even Arsenal’s wingers play more like attacking midfielders these days but this guy is primarily a wide man. The Metro today reveals:
Arsenal are ready to go all out to sign Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado at the end of the season after making him their top transfer target.
The 25-year-old has been one of the stars of the Serie A season so far, and after failing with a bid to sign him last month, the Gunners will push to bring him in over the summer.
And with the two clubs failing to agree on a package on who have him next season, Arsenal are planning to move in and offer £15million for him.
The winger known as ‘Vespa’ by some, due to his ability to slalom past the opposition, has been hitting the healdiens with some super performances in Serie A since returning to Fiorentina from a loan spell at Lecce last year. In a typically confusing Italian deal, the player is also part-owned by Udinese.
Compared to many super-sized modern footballers, he’s fairly diminutive in stature (5ft9in) but he is absolutey lightning fast and loves a dribble – whoscored.com reckons that he completed more dribbles last season than any other player in Seria A.
Most clubs seem to stockpile attackers these days and Arsenal are no different. With this sort of pace, Arsenal could be getting a really exciting player.
Let’s see the lad in action. Arsenal fans – is the lad worth £15m?
