Arsenal odds on for star

Well the rumour mills are like Yorkshire Terriers chasing rats in a cotton mill this morning. The moment we get a scent we are off in another direction to sniff out a new story on a simply crazy day of football activity.

The latest one in relation to Arsenal pertains to a midfielder. Yes another midfielder! What is it about Mr.Wenger and midfielders? Not happy with having the best middle line in the league, he’s after more playmakers.

The latest to be suggested in relation to Arsenal is Sweden international Kim Kallstrom. The veteran of some 108 caps is currently residing at Spartak Moscow, who he joined in 2012. He’s played for the club 30 times scoring three goals in the process. Prior to that he had a successful six-year stint at Lyon.

The Daily Mail reports:

Arsenal are in talks with Kim Kallstrom over a shock deadline day move to bolster their midfield.

The 31-year-old Spartak Moscow man is hopeful of securing a move ahead of the Gunners’ weekend clash against Crystal Palace.

The rumours about him and fellow veteran Klose coming to the club lead us to believe that Arsenal are looking to do their main business in the summer.

SkyBet have this morning opened up a market on Arsenal signing the player today. At the time of publishing The Gunners are 1/2 odds on favourites for his signature. Then come Chelsea and Tottenham way back at 33/1.

We still think that Arsenal could do with signing a striker before the end of this window if they have serious ambitions to challenge for the title this season. But let’s have a look at Kallstrom in action.

Arsenal fans, are you keen on this guy?
