News today that Cardiff City have raided Manchester United for two young stars. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has used his considerable contacts at United to all but seal deals for Fabio Da Silva and Wilfried Zaha. Zaha will join on loan until the end of the season in what is a rather perplexing move for Manchester United fans.
Yes, the lad needs some game time in order to gain experience and establish himself in The Premier League. But with the other Manchester United wingers under-performing so dramatically this season, many onlookers can’t understand why the lightning quick, feet-footed youngster hasn’t been given more chances at Old Trafford. At least he will get game time galore at Cardiff. Cardiff fans have got a superb deal there.
But, for us, the biggest mistake is letting Fabio go on what seems like a permanent deal. Nothing has been confirmed yet but it seems as if Manchester United are prepared to let Rafa’s brother go for good.
We think that this may turn out to be a really bad move by Manchester United. Unless they have some kind of first option on the player should they wish to buy him back they could lose someone who, we think, still has a big future in the game. Sent off in his last appearance for Manchester United the player must be so frustrated at having played so little over the last couple of years.
We think that he would be a super squad player for Manchester United. Despite his recent misdemeanour he is generally a more considered player than his brother – and a player who Sir Alex Ferguson saw fit to name in the starting 11 for the Champions League final in 2010.
The Manchester United boss David Moyes obviously gets to see the lad up close and personal in training every day. He must be seeing some weakness that we can’t perceive in Fabio’s game. Sure, he lacks finesse at times, but that would have come with experience.
We think that a lot of Manchester United fans will be really sorry to see Fabio go – particularly if it’s on a permanent deal. It may also fuel suspicion that both of the brothers may be leaving Manchester United before long. But what is clear to us is that Cardiff are getting two super players from Manchester United.
Manchester United fans, is David Moyes making a mistake with Fabio?

No. He promised the guy that if he didnt get enough games, he’d sort something out. Fab said he wasnt get enough games, so Moyes kept his word
