With major doubts raised about the capabilities of new Manchester United manager David Moyes there is one quality that few can question. He doesn’t half work hard. If he does lose his battle to become the next Fergie, it certainly won’t be for the want of trying.
Soon after the Manchester United match against Swansea on Saturday Moyes travelled to Italy for what many believed to be a scouting mission . Moyes went to see Juventus vs Cagliari and the consensus is that the following three players were the subject of Moyes’ scrutiny.
Claudio Marchisio
Rumours started toward the end of last week that Manchester United had made an offer of €24 million for this Italian international. The 27 year old, who has turned out 41 times plays country, has had an excellent state at Juventus city join the club in 2006. In 188 appearances for the club he scored 26 goals. He’s a solid if unspectacular performer.
Davide Astori – The 27 Cagliari centre-back has also played for Italy – 7 times – and been a stalwart the Cagliari defence since he joined from Milan in 2008.
Paul Pogba – the brilliant Frenchman is the one that got away as far as Manchester United are concerned. The 20 year old, who went to Juventus for peanuts, has scored 10 goals in 45 games for his current club and has become one of the stars of the show in Serie A. Pogba would cost upwards of 25 million if Manchester United were to go for him now.

Pogba/agent is a mercenary and would be off to City or Monaco or PSG as soon as the wallet started opening.. Great player but had enough of his type with Tevez. who funnily enough is also in no mans land in Italy as well..
