Liverpool linked with the ‘New Shevchenko’
So are we going to see some big business in January or what? So far there’s been more hype than a Don King promotion but little business to speak of.
Much of the speculation pertaining to Liverpool so far has revolved around Basel winger Mohamed Salah but that deal has reportedly stalled. WE report that The Mirror today reports that, according to reports:
Liverpool face missing out on FC Basel’s Mohamed Salah – with Zenit St Petersburg ready to double the Reds’ offer, according to reports.
It’s a deal which could well happen with the player’s agent reporting:
“Talks with Liverpool are ongoing. They want him. But they need agreement with Basel.”
The Daily Mail has speculated today that Liverpool may broaden their net and ‘reignite’ their interest in Dinamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko.
Yarmolenko, who has been called ‘The New Shevchenko’ is a nominal winger, who also plays up top and has great goalscoring prowess. He bagged a highly impressive 14 goals in 28 games for his country and 50 in 136 games for Dinamo since he made his senior debut in 2007. The lad has basically been smashing in the goals left right and centre. Happy days.
He’s a big boy, at 6ft 2in, and he’s coming into his prime at the age of 24. He looks like a super prospect and The Daily Mail says of Liverpool’s interest:
Liverpool are looking to reignite their interest in Dinamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko.
The 24-year-old figured prominently for Ukraine against England in their World Cup qualifiers and is rated at £15m.
Let’s see the man in action. Liverpool fans – would this guy go in to the category of Brendan Rodgers’ bargain buys or the end up in the outgoing ‘Borini bucket’?
