Manchester City

Manchester City best priced to sign international in Jan

We think that Manchester City are in as good a position as ever been right now. Although Arsenal and Liverpool are playing out of their skins Manchester City are surely by far and away the best bet for the Premier League title this season.

This team is playing as well as we have seen them play and passing the ball to each other without even looking a lot of the time. That telepathy is frightening and despite a bumpy beginning Manuel Pellegrini is now moulding a fierce beast of a side.

It’s not only England that needs to beware. If we were betting people, which we are, then we would pick Manchester City to qualify ahead of Barcelona for the Champions League quarter final, which we have. This Barcelona may be the best club side ever but there is such momentum with Manchester City right now that The Catalans must be bricking themselves about going out of the competition unusually early – it’s certainly the tie of the round for us anyway.

But even the most in-form clubs can have their foibles. One of the major talking points of this campaign has been the form of goalkeeper Joe Hart. We think that he should be played through his dodgy patch but rumours abound that another goalkeeper could be brought in in the winter window.

To that end Bet Victor have Manchester City as favourites to sign Stoke stopper Asmir Begovic if he decides to make a move in January.

We still find it hard to believe that Begovic hasn’t joined a bigger club already. He’s a sensational keeper – solid as a rock with great agility and presence. There isn’t a team in the land that wouldn’t consider making him their number one.

At 26 he’s got 8-10 years left in him at the top level. Let’s see him in action.
