Magical striker option for West Ham?

Oh dear, oh dear. Oh hecklers let’s add another one. Oh dear. It really is a sad state of affairs for West Ham right now. They would probably be getting more credits as the season’s underachievers if it weren’t for the cluster bomb going off in Manchester right now.

Whether or not Big Sam was right to rest so many for the FA Cup battering by Nottingham Forest is debatable. Premier League survival is obviously more important than a cup but there is no knowing what sort of damage that game at the weekend will have down to the collective confidence at West Ham.

Nevertheless we strongly believe that Big Sam remains, by far and away, the best man for the job at West Ham right now. He knows his squad well and he’s been in this situation so many times before that he could even afford to have an ironic chuckle to himself at the weekend. He was also given the ‘dreaded’ vote of confidence by his board following the defeat. But he will, crucially, remain calm.

But, what is clear, is that West Ham need more goal threat. They need a another striker to offer cover and help to the main man, Andy Carroll, who continues to struggle with injury.

There can be few better feasible options this January that Southampton’s England international Ricky Lambert. The Saints’ boss Mauricio Pochettino has alluded several times to his desire to keep Lambert, even though he’s not getting too many minutes right now.

But with the World Cup just around the corner Lambert will be absolutely desperate for game time and he will want assurances from Southampton, having recently broken into the England fold, that he will be central to the team in the second half of the season.

SkyBet have got West Ham as favourites to sign Lambert should he leave in January. At odds of 3/1 they are way ahead of thereat of the field according to the bookie. We think it would be magic signign for West Ham.

Let’s see him in Action. West Ham fans, is this signing plausible?

What a load of tired old repetition to support Allardyce. He doesn’t know his players , hence throwing the kids to the slaughter at Forest, he has n’t got any idea of what formation to play and the players to play in it. His substitutions are often a mistake and the injuries are down to his mis management. He doesn’t have a clue and the weak press, you included, seem to think everything is alright. It isn’t , if you don’t know what you are writing about, waster your time on another club, whu doesn’t need you.
