You would imagine that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would take the opportunity to strengthen whenever quality becomes available in the winter window.
Some believe that midfield needs most urgent attention and others believe that Liverpool need to supplement their defence. We think that Liverpool are still short in every area if they want to become a dominant European force. Accordingly, if a really good player becomes available regardless of position, Liverpool will surely be interested.
One link that has surfaced of late is that of the adaptable Swede Ola Toivonen. Apparently Kenny Dalglish tried to sign the player back in 2010 and Brendan Rodgers is now also sniffing around.
Liverpool are exploring the prospect of landing Swedish star Ola Toivonen on loan until the end of the season.
The versatile 27-year-old, who has been linked with Newcastle, can play in midfield or along the front line, and would provide the cover boss Brendan Rodgers needs in his injury-hit squad.
He looks and sounds like a bit like Dirk Kuyt. If the player can get anywhere near the standards of the Dutchman at Liverpool then obviously he will be a big hit.
The report suggests that if the player performs to his ability Liverpool will take him permanently in the summer. With 35 caps for Sweden he hasn’t been an automatic pick for the national team but he has enough experience to suggest that he could make a difference at Liverpool.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Do you like the look of him Liverpool fans?
