Liverpool want faulty goal machine – report

A hidden gem or waste of hard-earned?

All the talk in The Premier League right now is about how good Sturridge and Suarez are together. Providing Liverpool can keep those two fit they really do have a good chance to win the title this season.

Some people may feel that Liverpool’s squad is too weak to challenge until May. But with no European fixtures to play and Liverpool already out of The Capital One Cup they don’t have too much to preoccupy them.

More importantly Liverpool need not be overly concerned about getting tired in the spring. By that time Liverpool will surely be fresher than clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United – particularly if those teams do well in Europe.

Nevertheless Liverpool will probably look to strengthen in the January window. Talksport today reveals that Liverpool could be in for a Spanish forward when the window opens. They say:

Liverpool are battling it out with Roma to sign Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez, according to sources in Spain.

Roma boss Rudi Garcia, whose side sit atop Serie A following a sensational start to the season, wants to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window.

The problem with strikers is that they are largely rated on how many goals they score. This guy really hasn’t scored that many.

With 50 goals in 288 appearances for club and country you would hardly call him prolific. But what we do like about him is that he has that Spanish technique. He is the sort of player that can play anywhere along the front line and really knit a team together.

In that respect, Lopez has far more to his game and just goals. We think he might turn out to be a valuable acquisition for some club.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Liverpool fans would you like to see Lopez at the club or is he a waste of money?
