So Arsenal had a little bit of a setback against Manchester United. It’s going to sting, especially as Arsenal were in such superb form. Having lost to Dortmund a few weeks back they answered all the critics with interest by beating the Germans in the reverse fixture and then outclassing Liverpool at The Emirates.
The fact of the matter is that football fans don’t ever want their teams to lose. The truth is that every team loses sometimes. Arsenal lost away at one of the hardest places to go to. They shouldn’t feel too sorry for themselves.
But, they may well want to bring in extra players in the winter window, to try to stay in the title hunt.
A player being linked to Arsenal today is the Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka. The 24 year old, who plays for the snappily-named Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, is reportedly interesting a long list of Europe’s top clubs – including The Gunners.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are all keen on the exciting wide man Konoplyanka.
And Europe’s top clubs will turn out in force to run the rule over the player considered the most talented Ukrainian of his generation.
Konoplyanka’s club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk fended off a £10m bid from an unnamed Premier League club in the summer.
They are now bracing themselves for more bids in January.
The same report quotes the player’s agent who clearly isn’t trying to overhype his man in order to get himself a big pay day. He said:
“He can do things on a football pitch that very few players can come close to, so we are expecting an interesting January.”
He has a decent delivery and also knows where the goal is – with 25 in 123 games for club and 8 in 33 games for country. Let’s see the flyer in action. Arsenal fans let us know if you think this guy can improve the first team.
