Manchester United: Midfielder linked with move – why?

Only the most optimistic of United fans could have imagined that it would be a seamless transition between Fergie and David Moyes.

Manchester United have had a difficult start to the season. Only the most optimistic of United fans could have imagined that it would be a seamless transition between Fergie and David Moyes.

As it turns out, it has been a rocky ride, but there are signs now that Manchester United may be pulling themselves together as a football team.

They are still in every competition after all and if they can start to string some victories together they can put themselves back in contention in the league aswell.

Many think that the defence has been the main culprit this season but we believe that the midfield has the most to answer for. The signing of Marouane Felliani has been seen by some as a disaster and the established wingers have been awful.

On the left there is now hope with the brilliant young star Adnan Januzaj. We haven’t been this excited about a player since Ronnie came through the door. He’s already undroppable in our opinion. But Manchester United still have problems on the right and neither Ashley Young or Nani is good enough for the first team. Antonio Valencia is a better player but is still struggling to find form.

Which makes it all the more bizarre that stories persist about Wilfried Zaha being loaned out in the transfer window. Obviously David Moyes gets to see Zaha up close and personal. Onlookers, such as soccersweep, will only see him during any match time he is given.

But even in his one appearance so far, against Norwich in midweek, Zaha looked like a better option than any of the other right wingers at Manchester United. Cardiff City are said to be interested and there is a long list of other reported suitors.

We aren’t at all surprised because, whilst Zaha may lack finesse, he has such a variety of qualities that he can flummox even the best defenders.

He showed glimpses of class in the middle of last week against Norwich – he has pace to burn, great feet, a quality final ball and sublime agility – and we truly hope that he gets more opportunities to shine before January because we believe it would be a huge mistake to let Zaha go out on loan.

Manchester United fans do you think Zaha is good enough to be given a chance in the first team?
