Today’s Manchester United news: Chicha, Nani and ‘the new Ronaldo’

It’s been an interesting news day for Manchester United fans, with talk of high profile departures from the club.

Nani seems ever more likely to leave Manchester United and reports today in The Independent suggest that Milan and Juventus both want the infuriatingly sporadic genius in a deal that could be worth £25m. Nani is of course capable of turning his career at Old Trafford around in a couple of weeks, but he has hitherto lacked the consistency to cement a first team spot.

The same news source speculates that Manchester United have already found a replacement for the Portuguese in the shape of Porto’s James Rodriguez. Labelled in some quarters as, The South American Ronaldo, The Colombian has been linked with United for over a year and his wand of a left foot may well add more balance to a team lacking natural width on that flank since Ryan Giggs used to regularly tear the opposition apart. Again and again.

Javier Hernandez is another whose name has been linked with several clubs since he fell down the pecking order at Manchester United. Since a sensational first season at the club, he seems to have lost confidence and shooting power, while his first touch has also been too often awry. After recently being linked with Arsenal, now Fiorentina are apparently circling, according to Talksport. We think that Fergie loves the attitude of the Mexican however and will give him more time to return to form.

In other news, John Terry has been banned from both Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures with Manchester United, after deciding not to appeal against the charges of improper conduct pertaining to Antongate. He will therefore miss the league and Capital One Cup games, both at Stamford Bridge, on 28th and 31 October respectively.

United host Stoke this weekend in a merciful return to Premier League action and represent safe money at 3/10 with William Hill
