Even Ashley Cole’s amusing hairdo couldn’t compensate for the drab encounter at Wembley on Friday night. There has been much speculation about the Chelsea star’s club future over the last few weeks and he was also missing from the first eleven against San Marino.
Whether he was being rested ahead of Poland, or dropped in the light of his recent Tweeting, remains to be seen. But England eventually put some gloss onto a fairly tepid performance by managing 5 goals against the joint lowest ranked side in world football.
For those of us who find the international qualifier painfully arduous the good news is that, bar a couple of friendlies that won’t particularly disturb the club calendar, these midweek games are the last of the international nonsense until March. All of which makes me happier than the cat who got the cream, the salmon fillet and a groggy mouse to toy with.
At least Poland will provide actual competition but, to add a bit of spice and get me through the week I’m going to do an accumulator. Just sign up to Billiam Hills by clicking these links or one of the banners. Chuck a few quid in and start doing the predictor. soccersweep has already more than doubled it’s opening kitty but we are expecting the big win any time now.
Good luck people
