Liverpool: Striker doesn’t have a prayer
Alan Pardew has admitted that NewcastleUnited are still interested bringing Andy Carroll back to the club on loan or, more likely, in a permanent deal.
Many of us felt that Andy Carroll might not be best suited to Brendan Rodgers’ preferred style of play and, in an interesting interview with The Mirror, Pardew seems to confirm that the fans opinion was mirrored by those inside the footballing elite.
“I think it was obvious as soon as Brendan Rodgers went into Liverpool that Andy’s time was going to have to be somewhere else. I think it’s quite right we’re involved in that.
“But whether he comes here is something I will take or I will leave.
“It’s a lot of money, although we’ll obviously be getting a big upside in terms of what we sold him for, and we’ve got three great strikers here already.”
The potential departure of the big England striker has drawn a huge variety of responses from Liverpool fans. So what do you think? Is Rodgers wrong to get rid of Carroll?
