Liverpool close to first major summer signing?

It’s only a matter of time before Brendan Rodgers makes his first imprint on the Liverpool squad. There a is strong suggestion in media outlets around the world that Rodgers’ first big signing could be that of Gaston Ramirez, the 21 year old attacking midfielder from Uruguay.

Currently excelling at Bologna in Italy, ‘The Uruguayan Kaka’ (whatever next) has been linked with Liverpool FC for some time. It’s not a new link then, but seemingly one that won’t go away and Ramirez’ agent Pablo Betancourt has claimed that he is currently negotiating a transfer with a major English side.

We all like to think that Brendan Rodgers is going to make Liverpool not only a winning team but a beautiful one and Ramirez would certainly fit into the category of tidy and technically adept midfielders. He has only been at Bologna since the end of 2010, but his form has been so good that he has drawn admiring glances from all over Europe.

He has a decent goal scoring ratio of about 1 in 5 but his real talent lies in his gorgeous and highly effective dribbling skills, ability to play the killer pass and his capacity to guard possession expertly. Noone wants a midfielder who cedes possession cheaply and Ramirez keeps the ball with all the passion of a jealous boyfriend. All in all, he is a genuinely attacking midfielder rather than someone who will sit in front of the defence.

He certainly looks as if he would fit the bill at Liverpool so let’s see if this deal comes to fruition.

Gaston Ramirez would be a fantastic signing. The thing is Brandon is adamant on bringing in Sigurdsson and been looking at what he needs at Swansea for a certain quality with a certain budget the club had. Let’s just hope he looks into the players LFC has been monitoring and shortlisted for some time now for him to consider cause simply at Swansea he will not dare looking at bigger players he knows he will not have the chance to even dream. Whether he wants them or not, he surely must learn from the mistakes King Kenny’s panic buying did and taking too much time negotiating could ultimately result in us being snubbed. Quite frankly, I would love seeing Younes Bhelanda brought in although Ramirez is a good option with a countryman that have played alongside at internationals, it can only be good . A right winger or simply push Johnson up for the job and get Kelly or a decent not overpriced right back taking Johnson’s position. Keep Carroll unless a proven striker can be brought in and Berbatov could just do the trick and a Sturridge or Kalou . Still let’s just hope Mr Rodgers does well with whoever he decides on. I’ve got a really good feeling about him. Let’s get behind the boss. Go Brandon Go !!! YNWA !
