The latest rumours from the England camp suggest that the prodigious talents of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are to be unleashed on France from the start of this afternoon’s game.
soccersweep has long advocated this idea because although he is young, he is already easily the best wide man that England has. While Downing, Walcott and Milner have some quality they all play with their heads down far too much. The OX has all the natural ability in the world but, crucially, this talent is combined with football intelligence – an instinctive quality less easy to teach.
Hopefully this story is true because The OX could be the star of the show for England, especially in the absence of Wayne Rooney.
In other news, England are around 12-1 to win Euro 2012. For those of you who don’t underdstand football betting, this means that if you put £10 on England you will get nothing back.
Ole!
