It has become clear that Liverpool have signed highly rated Crewe midfielder Dan Smith. The 16 year old had attracted serious interest from, among others, Manchester City, but has instead decided to put pen to paper with the Anfield outfit.
Crewe Alexandra spokesman Rob Wilson confirmed the deal:
“We are naturally disappointed that Dan has decided to sign for Liverpool,”
The fee for the youngster is thought to be in the environs of £300,000. More to follow.
