BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

Norwich v Man City         Sat 14 Apr 12:45

We all likes a good tragedy and Man City could well be it this season. They have bought their way to ‘Succ’ but the last three letters may cost another £200m. Still, they closed the gap to 5 again in the week and won’t lie down yet. They might just edge this one against a side that has been marvellous to watch this year. Bloody marvellous. Every day in Norwich is a big party in Delia Smith’s pants at the moment.  It’s such a tough game to call – it’s somewhere between a draw and win . A drin? Manchester City win

Sunderland v Wolves            Sat 14 Apr 15:00

Who will win this titanic struggle between a team of mid-tablers booking their hols and a Wolves side further adrift than the stars of Jaws – and without that bit of floaty wood to help them. Just Terry Connor, who has the terrified look of a fox trapped in a bin liner.  A classic match up of grit versus, erm, grit then.  Sunderland Win

Swansea v Blackburn           Sat 14 Apr 15:00

Just like the actual animal ‘The Swans’ are beautiful to watch but they will also break your fingers if you piss them off. Swansea F.C. have taken the Premiership, if not by storm, then at least by fairly heavy showers. They were trounced in the week by QPR and will want to bounce back. Draw

West Brom v QPR Sat 14 Apr 15:00

Roy has raised the bar. Has Mark found the spark? Draw

Man Utd v Aston Villa Sun 15 Apr 16:00

United have had more ups and downs than Babs Windsor this season and thus, Fergie would absolutely bite your hand off to the elbow if you offered him the title right now. Most people use that term in a figurative way. But Fergie would actually bite it off if it meant the winning the title. He’s that ambitious.  United Win

Arsenal v Wigan         Mon 16 Apr 20:00

Arsene has started to look annoyingly gleeful again recently. I’ll let it go for now because, let’s face it, he has taken a lot of flack this year. The recent run of results must feel to him like a long, hugely satisfying fart after a crampy tummy. Even though Alex Song hath the hairdo of an eighties’ hooker, he’s driving them on to a top three finish. Home Win

FA CUP

Liverpool v Everton  Sat 14 Apr  12:30

Liverpool have spent most of the season with a Carroll but without a prayer. But they could still end up with two trophies. That’s two more than last year. And 1 more than any other team in England can achieve if the Reds do lift the cup. So cheer up you miserable bunch of potential double winners. Liverpool win

Tottenham v Chelsea       Sun 15 Apr 18:00

Chelsea have looked a little more, if not exactly, like their imperious old selves of late. But the spine of the team has less power these days.  Consequently, most sides give them a good game and Tottenham will not fear The Blues. Spurs’ form may be patchy but the class of their stars is permanent. You just can’t see either side getting decisive distance from the other over 90 minutes however. Draw

at time of writing, a £1 accumulator bet on the above results will win you £317.20 at Ladbrokes
