Everton – Can Toffees Keep Ross?

In the short term the answer is ‘yes’. After starting the season in the first team David Moyes pulled the protege out of the line up and, surprisingly, he’s been in the reserves for most of the time since.

We have seen players with awesome potential suffer terminal dips in their form on countless occasions in the past, but you do feel that there is something very special about Ross Barkley. Something that, despite a different playing postion, reminds you of the unmentionable one who entered the fray at Goodsion at 16 and wowed the crowds, for all too short a period, before disappearing to Old Trafford.

I do feel that one day ‘Wazza’ might go some way to appeasing the Everton fans by enjoying a sparkling swansong at the club in his mid-thirties. It just feels destined to happen. In the same way you feel that, ultimately, Barkley will one day be snapped up by the biggest of fish.

Perhaps by holding the player back this year, Moyes has pulled off a masterstroke and given Toffees fans the chance to see a more mature Barkley play a full season next time round. I, for one, think he needs much more time and experience in the Premier League under the excellent tutelage of David Moyes before he even begins to think about what his future holds.

Ross Barkley will be at Everton for the next couple of Years having signed a recent contract… ” It will be years before he will be off to one of the big four… Theirs no way he would consider Liverpool FC.. Why would he want to go backwards in his career.. That will never Happen …

i forgot to say that’s the way everton deals with our up and coming talented players, man u take our best talent and then are kind enough to sell us their rejects, personally i would have liked to havewatched both rooney and barkley in an everton shirt instead of neville and gibson although both have done well at the club
