There is drama afoot in the transfer market. A week ago, it looked for all the word that Borussia’s brilliant striker Robert Lewandowski would be joining Bayern Munchen. But it now appears that the German giants have gone a little too far in alluding to their intentions about signing the player. Dortmund have made a stand and publicly stated that the player will not join Bayern this summer. The CEO of Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke, was quoted in BILD as saying:
“Robert Lewandowski will definitely not transfer to Bayern Munich in 2013,”
“This is final. We have informed Robert and his advisers. The Bayern case is closed because there was no written offer.”
With only a year left on his contract you would think that Dortmund would like to sell this summer or lose him for nothing in 2014. They may well have to keep the player but they would be losing a huge amount of money by not selling this summer. Step forward Manchester United.
Lewandowski was linked with a move to Manchester even before he broke onto the scene with the Polish national side in the European Championship 2012. Perhaps if Manchester United hadn’t signed a certain Dutchman then he would already playing for the team by now. Manchester United fans will of course want to keep Wayne Rooney which begs the question, if Lewandowski does join Manchester United how will they all fit into the side?
But you can’t have too many good players and lots of the papers are now suggesting that the polish striker will be heading to Manchester united this summer for around 25 million. The Telegraph, among others, believe there is weight in the tale.
Having failed with a £15m bid for Lewandowski last summer, United have maintained an interest in the player but retreated from the bidding after being led to believe that a deal had been struck with Bayern. However, with that move now unlikely to progress, the Lewandowski camp expect United and Chelsea to formalise their interest in the player.
There was a story yesterday that Manchester United’s official site had posted an article confirming the signing of the player before removing it quickly. This was quickly revealed as a prank but there does appear to be a swell of hype about the player joinning Manchester United.
Lewandowski is an out and out finisher in the mould of RvP. So it would be very interesting to see how he would fit in at Old Trafford. Manchester United fans, do you think Lewandowski would be a good buy?

I love Rooney for he has been a dedicated player that has given his all United. It’s unfortunate he’s unhappy. Hence, if he still insists of leaving then Lewy is that perfect replacement. However, United needs a midfielder and left back morethan a stricker.

Rooney has done a lot at united, and I think it would be very hard or uncertain for rooney to give man utd wat he has already given for utd. He has done enough, so a lewandowsky is the man! No doubts!!!!

Nited fanz all over the globe, one thing we must know is great players such as Contona, keane, ronaldo etc. Left the club and man u is still winning trophies. NO PLAYER IS IRREPLACEABLE. Let Rooney go and c how quickly we forget about him when lewandoski n rvp start firing goals in. Once, may be, but twice shows he is very unhappy. To Mr Rooney, man, you are very replaceable.
