Just months after England crashed out of Euro 2016, Roy Hodgson could be ready to come out of hiding.
Very little has been heard from the former Three Lions boss since he resigned within minutes of the defeat to Iceland, but that could be about to change, with the Mirror reporting he is being lined up for the West Brom job.
Tony Pulis’ future is looking increasingly uncertain after he complained about the club’s failure to back him in the transfer market. It wouldn’t be the first time the manager has fallen out with a club, so WBA must be concerned that the volatile Welshman is ready to walk out.
That has led to them installing Hodgson as a contingency plan, with the 69-year-old keen to restore his reputation at the club he left four years ago to take the reins of the national side.
Hodgson was a success in the Midlands, but he has also been recently offered work in the big bucks Chinese Super League. It will take some courage to return to the sidelines of English football, but with West Brom in crisis, this could be his last chance to redeem himself.
