Chelsea could offer Everton Loic Remy as part of their plan to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge.
The Mirror report that Antonio Conte is preparing a British record £65million bid for the Belgian striker, who has scored 28 goals since making his move to Goodison Park.
The Toffees have already rejected an offer of £57million and they have warned that they are holding out for £75million.
Understandably, Chelsea are reluctant to pay that, but they may have found a perfect solution as they are hoping to offload Remy anyway.
The 29-year-old has been just one of a number of strikers to flop at Stamford Bridge in recent years, with the Frenchman scoring just eight goals in his two years in West London.
While Everton might not typically be interested in him, they are leaving it late to bring in a striker to replace Lukaku, and accepting the Remy offer would mean Ronald Koeman is at least not left short up front.
Everton paid £28million to bring Lukaku to Merseyside, so they are set to make a huge profit either way – but it is their contingency plans that will concern their supporters.
