Chelsea have rejected a bid from Borussia Monchengladbach for Andreas Christensen, according to Sky Sports.
The Bundesliga side offered £14.25million for the Denmark international but have been knocked by the Blues.
The 20-year-old has already been playing for Monchengladbach, having been sent there on a two-year loan.
He has now completed the first half of that spell and has been so impressive that the German outfit were keen to bring him in on a permanent basis.
Quite why Chelsea have rejected their advances is unclear. Since Christensen went on loan, the Blues have had three different managers, but that doesn’t mean he’s in Antonio Conte’s plans any more than he was in Jose Mourinho’s or Guus Hiddink’s.
Christensen has only ever featured in one league game for Chelsea and as a young player, it’s essential that he’s playing regular football.
This rejection doesn’t mean he’s staying at Stamford Bridge, but only time will tell if Monchengladbach return with a better offer.
