NEW Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been in talks with Juventus star Paul Pogba over a possible summer move to Stamford Bridge, according to The Sun.
The paper reports: “The Frenchman has attracted interest from the majority of European superpowers and, according to Get French Football, Chelsea are in constant contact with the midfielder’s representatives over a move to bring him to west London this summer.
“The midfielder fuelled talk of a move to the Premier League earlier this year when he was spotted in London when given time off by Juventus and Conte has identified Chelsea’s midfield as a priority in this summer’s transfer market.”
Conte is well aware of Pogba’s ability, having signed the French international from Manchester United on a free transfer back in 2012 while in charge at Juventus.
The 23-year-old has since gone on to win four consecutive Serie A titles with Juve and has become one of the most sought-after players in the world.
He has also been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, while United themselves are believed to have submitted a bid earlier this month, according to The Sun.
However, with Pogba’s current deal at Juventus running through until 2019, the Italian outfit will be looking for a massive transfer fee and Chelsea will almost certainly have to smash the British transfer record of £59.3million that Manchester United paid Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria in order to get their man.
