Reports came in this morning that Manchester United had joined the race to sign the brilliant Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 26 year old has been on fire this season scoring 27 goals in 27 games to draw the attention of clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal.
But The Manchester Evening News has reported that Manchester United have joined the hunt for the Gabon international.
United do have an interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
And, with that, Sky Bet have made Manchester United favourites for his signature in Janaury at 6/1.
And reports this afternoon from Sky suggest that the player has missed training for ‘personal reasons’ which will only intensify the speculation on a possible transfer.
And his signing makes perfect sense. He’s not a conventional number 9 – he can play on either wing too – but his goal threat and finishing ability is irrefutable.
With Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal ostensibly uncertain about the best positions for players like Martial, Rooney and Memphis, an adaptable addition like Aubameyang would be a wise choice.
At 26 he is coming into his prime and will be a wonderful signing for whoever gets him.
Let’s see the star in action.
