Thankfully Manchester City have spared themselves any Champions League blushes by racking up 9 points in their first four European games this season.
So while they are safely through to the last 16 they will be desperate to take top spot.
And you would imagine that this game is crucial in that respect.
With Juventus just one point behind Manchester City, a win for The Old Lady will put them into a commanding position in the group with only a draw required to stay in 1st place, owing to Juventus having a better head to head.
What Manchester City need is a solid performance at the back and a clean sheet.
They are more than capable of beating last year’s finalists but the cuffing from Liverpool at the weekend will surely generate an air of caution in this game – initially at least.
Overall, Manchester City retain the power to beat anyone on their day but these regular lapses in concentration have seen too many implosions already this season.
