So, will Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger be smiling like a Cheshire cat come September or resembling a madman about to be carted away by the authories?
That surely depends on how he fares in the transfer market this summer. We hope that he addresses the major issues in the side and, with reports that Petr Cech could be close to signing, one big area of weakness could be remedied.
There is also a big need for another defensive midfielder. Morgan Schneiderlin is a perfect solution for Wenger but reports suggest that Arsenal may have turned their attention Grzegorz Krychowiak of Sevilla. While the Pole looks decent we would take the tried and tested Frenchman any day of the week.
Arsenal are replete with attacking midfielders and wingers but they could also use a really top centre forward who can scores goals against the likes of Manchester United and Madrid.
Speaking of Madrid, Arsenal have again been linked with Karim Benzema this week and it’s difficult to think of a better, potentially gettable player than this lad. He’s scored goals everywhere that he’s played and to stay in the first team at a tumultuous Real Madrid for 6 seasons is a marvellous and rare feat in itself.
So, if Arsenal strengthen their spine in this way we think that they will give any team in the league a run for its money next season. But the eternal question remains. Will Wenger finally spend big on the defensive areas of the side?
Arsenal fans: is the is the perfect XI for next season?

Not sure why Ramsey was missed out.. He is a phenomenal player for us and has been on top of his performance in the last two years. I also doubt our LB Gibbo and would prefer Monreal who had a solid season at LB last year.

Don’t see Morgan getting the nod ahead of Le Coq. Morgan is more of a box to box midfielder, while Coq is a complete defensive midfielder. A Cavalho Kondogbia would be more appropriate.
