Is he worth it?
No – he’s one of the most overrated players that we have seen in the elite sector over the last few years. Like David Luiz at PSG, he makes too many mistakes for a centre back and is too limited to be an effective anchor man. But his misdemeanours often go unnoticed/unpunished at Madrid because they have such a good front 6. We would take Raphael Varane over Ramos any day of the week.
Will he move?
Not a chance. His agent is arguably using the potential interest of Manchester United and others to get a better contract out of Madrid. It’s an age old trick which is wearing thin now. His brother gave the classic agent threat when he said:
“For now he still has two years of contract. We await the call of the club but Real Madrid have not called me.
“For now there are no talks. Perhaps it is best if he doesn’t finish his career at Real Madrid but at another club. We never know.
