Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is a hard man to please. But he always gives credit where it’s due and he has taken time out to big up his team mate David De Gea.
With a picture presumably take on the train down to London for the clash of the weekend against Chelsea, Rooney tweeted this message to De Gea, who has been nominated for PFA Player of The Year.
‘Congratulations to @D_DeGea on being nominated for PFA Player of the Year. Well deserved, he’s been unbelievable’
Along with the following picture:
De Gea has been magnificent for Manchester United over the last two seasons. After spending 18 months getting buffeted about by opposition players at the start of his career in England, he has grown into arguably the best keeper in Europe. You would have to say that his time at Manchester United has certainly improved him hugely as a player – more so than if he had stayed in Spain.
Manchester United will be desperate to hold on to their number one, who has just one year left on his contract at the end of this season.
But for now, all thoughts are on a strong finish to the campaign and Manchester United are in superb shape right now.
