A couple of weeks ago you would have said that there was no chance of anything other than an easy three points for Chelsea in this one.
But with The Blues’ lacklustre performance at the weekend, twinned with a definite improvement in form and results for Tottenham, things don’t look so clear cut.
When you also add the fact that master marksman Diego Costa is out of this one though suspension then Tottenham should feel excited about going to The Bridge and having a real go.
Spurs’ absentee list also looks to be clearing up. Capoue, Adebayor, Townsend and Rose may be back after knocks, while Kyle Naughton ends his suspension.
Up top, Harry Kane continues to impress and, dare we say, Roberto Soldado is finally getting his act together for Tottenham?
Spurs played with two strikers at the weekend. It would be very bold if Pochettino did this again at The Bridge. He is of course a positive coach but it’s more likely that we will see an extra man in midfield for this game.
We think that this one is actually winnable. And after an encouraging turn of events over the last week a victory here would surely be the perfect springboard for a great run of form.
Anyway, it’s the game of the round and here is our strongest XI for the fixture. Tottenham fans: winnable?
