The presence of Victor Valdes at Manchester United this week has come as something of a surprise and it simply goes to show the sphere of influence that Louis van Gaal has on the world game. Valdes is no longer in his prime but this is one of the best keepers of his generation – yet another A-lister coached by Louis.
But reports on Saturday claim that Manchester United’s first outfield purchase this winter could be for midfield hardman Fredy Guarin. The Inter Milan midfielder has been linked to Manchester United for a few windows and he may finally join in January, with the report suggesting that Marouane Fellaini’s goal scoring return to the side won’t be enough to save his United career.
Inter Milan ace Guarin is set to arrive, with Van Gaal ready to dump Fellaini to make room in the squad.
The 28 year old Colombian has been quietly efficient throughout his career and has scored 10 goals in 75 leagues games for Inter since he joined the club in 2012. He’s also netted 4 in 54 for his national team.
Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans – is Guarin the sort of player that the team needs?
