Jose Mourinho has boldly stated that, with 44 days still to go in the transfer market, his business is done for the summer.
The transfer market closes 31 August and we close our market on July 19. We finished the market today,
The Chelsea manager has taken the baton from Sir Alex Ferguosn as the master of the media and he often makes journalists resemble puppets who are simply being told what to right next by the canny operator.
So when he says that Chelsea’s transfer business for the summer is done we should all take it with pinch of salt. Because we could easily imagine him signing an extra player for each department of the team.
Defence
Having sold David Luis to PSG for silly money you might imagine that another centre back could come in. Brazilian Miranda has been linked over the last day. On the other hand Chelsea aren’t exactly desperate in that area with Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic, plus Zouma out on loan.
Midfield
There has been talk of another player coming in to play alongside Nemanja Matic. Cesc fabregas could of course play there or further forward. But Sami Khedira would be an excellent addition and the Hollywood signing in this area would be Paul Pogba. Again though, Chelsea are hardly stretched in midfield with the likes of Ramires still on top of his game.
Forwards
This is where we feel Chelsea are most likely strengthen if they do buy. Although Jose usually sticks to one striker up top, he has shed Ba and Eto’o, leaving him with Diego Costa and the misfiring Torres. Is that enough?
Chelsea fans: Is PR genius Jose toying with us or is that really it for the summer business?
