Arsene Wenger will have few concerns going into this weekend’s North London Derby.
As Spurs continue to falter, his Arsenal side will go into the game on the back of their dramatic 3-2 win over Ludogorets and joint-top of the Premier League.
And while Spurs could be without key men Mousa Dembele and Erik Lamela even if Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld do return, the Gunners will have Granit Xhaka back in central midfield.
The £34million signing has been suspended for the last three games after his sending off against Swansea, and it’s fair to say he’s no stranger to the referee’s book.
Wenger admits, via the Mirror, that the Swiss’ discipline is a huge concern, particularly going into a game as heated as the Spurs fixture is likely to be.
“I’ve no specific idea what I’ll do (with the starting XI) but i am concerned (with his discipline) yes,” the Frenchman told reporters.
“Discipline is important and we want to be effective in the situations we face in a derby.
“I think he’s quite a composed and calm guy, sometimes on the field the reaction is a bit impulsive.
“He needs to work on that and his control in the game.”
Xhaka will need to keep his cool against Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as he could be key to frustrating a Lilywhites side already at boiling point after six games without a win.
