It’s been an interesting start to the season for Michy Batshuayi.
Chelsea fans have immediately taken to the Belgian, who provided an assist for Diego Costa on his debut before scoring his first goal against Watford, followed by a brace in the League Cup.
Nonetheless, reports persist that the striker could be sent back to Marseille – the club from whom the Blues signed him – on loan.
Batshuayi is intent on staying and fighting for his place at Stamford Bridge, reports the Guardian, but that’s not going to be easy.
Antonio Conte spent £33million on the player in the summer, though it’s thought he wasn’t actually the manager’s choice.
Costa has scored six goals already this season, so Batshuayi has been consigned to a bit-part role on the bench. In fact, he is yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea.
The former Standard Liege man obviously has his work cut out to impress Conte, but from what we saw of him at Marseille, he’s definitely got the ability to make an impact.
