Martin Skrtel’s future is set to be decided in the next few days, with Inter Milan now a possible destination for the outgoing Liverpool centre-back.
The Sun report that the Serie A club are the latest to enter the race for the Slovakian.
Skrtel has been the subject of much talk after he was part of the Slovakia defence that kept England at bay in the 0-0 draw between the two sides at Euro 2016.
His performance has clearly earned him new esteem, with a number of clubs sounding Liverpool out about a potential £6million deal.
The same paper reports that newly-promoted Middlesbrough are keen to add him to their squad to ensure they have enough Premier League experience, while he was also recently linked with Turkish side Fenerbache.
Inter seems the most attractive of those options, while their manager Roberto Mancini will be well-acquainted with Skrtel’s style of play from his days as Manchester City boss.
The San Siro side will have plenty of money to spend this summer once their Chinese takeover is complete, but it seems in defence, there’s no need to spend big when Skrtel is available at such a bargain price.
