Manchester United have tabled a bid for reported La Liga target Saul Niguez, according to Spanish football expert Guilem Balague.
But the 21 year old’s future could be influenced by the recent bans handed out to both Madrid clubs according to Balague.
Balague told Sky Sports:
“The latest I’ve heard is Manchester United have put an offer of €20m on the table but Atletico Madrid don’t want to let him go. And considering the ban, they won’t let him go, so I think that’s the end of that.”
Balague also points out that the player isn’t currently minded to leave the Spanish outfit.
But it does give an interesting insight into Manchester United’s current plans to sign a midfielder.
Despite his tender years Niguez excelled in what was a breakthrough season for the midfielder at Atletico Madrid in the last campaign. He played 35 league games and scored 4 goals in another competitive season for the club coached by the brilliant Diego Simeone.
But it does look as if Manchester United’s search for vital additions in the January window won’t come to a successful conclusion with Niguez.
Let’s see some of his better moments for Atletico anyway.
Manchester United fans: is this the sort of player that the club should be after this month?
