Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp surprised many with his speedy move for Steven Caulker and he may spring another shock, according to The Sun:
Jurgen Klopp could make an £8million move for Southampton striker Shane Long
LIVERPOOL are mulling over a January bid for Southampton’s Shane Long.
Long may not be at the head of the wish list of many a Liverpool fan but we have always been big admirers of the forward.
The 28-year-old Irish international is something of a journeyman.
He started his career at Cork City but only made 2 appearances for the Irish outfit before moving to Reading in 2005. He played 203 times for the club and scored 54 goals before moving on to spells at West Brom, Hull and Southampton.
We have always thought that he would be a superb 5-a-side man. He may not be the greatest athlete of all time but he has super feet and really good technique overall.
He’s played 59 times for Ireland and scored 14 goals.
FINAL WORD: Would he be a decent addition for Liverpool? In the short-term we think he definitely would. Long has the ability to be a success at a top club and he may turn out to be another brilliant left field coup for Jurgen Klopp. At worst, he would score a few picture book goals for the club.
Let’s see some of his best moments for club and country.
Liverpool fans: yay or nay?
