Chelsea may well add to their attack in the winter window and we couldn’t help but be fascinated by the prospect thrown up by The Times in the latest news cycle.
They say that among Chelsea’s potential winter targets is Saido Berahino.
The 22 year old perhaps has something of a bad reputation having fallen out with his club so publicly in the summer. Berahino wanted a move to Tottenham, who reportedly made several bids for the striker. When the offers were declined Saido wasn’t happy and threatened to strike.
Call it ambition or a patent lack of loyalty, it certainly had an impact on the public perception of the player.
And perhaps that is why he hasn’t been courted by more clubs.
Because we feel that the 22 year told has the lot. First and foremost he is as quick as you like – a vital quality for any Premier League forward.
He’s a hard-worker, a great athlete who seems indefatigable and has a good sense of positioning.
But, as the video will show, he is also a great finisher. Berahino could play up top or out wide for Chelsea and add another genuine point of attack for the club.
We think that if Chelsea do make a move for the England U21 international that the could prove to be the signing of the window.
