For the real football anoraks out there the waiting is almost too much to bear.
The transfer window seems interminable and it would be nice to just sleep through the speculation and wake up to find the business all done and dusted.
Well, the bad news is that Manchester United fans will have to wait another 6 weeks to know for sure what the squad will look like for the new season.
The good news is that some great business has been done already.
More bad news: The jet-heeled record signing, Angel di Maria, looks set to leave just a year after he moved from Real Madrid for £59.7m.
David de Gea could well follow him out of the door but there is hope that the sublime Spaniard will at least see out the remaining 12 months of his contract.
The rumour mills this week have suggested that Manchester United will attempt to do deals for Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and perhaps even Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ramos would be a top player for Manchester United. He would cost ridiculous money but certainly strengthen the spine of the team.
Ronaldo? Well we don’t need to persuade anyone of his ability.
And the same goes for Zlatan. But, at 33 years of age, he is surely too expensive, too old and too demanding of first team action.
Nevertheless, there is a chance he will come.
So here is the eleven if all of them joined Manchester United and started.
What a side!
You would have to say that this team would have to have a good chance of domestic and European success IF they all clicked.
Manchester United fans: A Champions League winning side?

Firstly, Di Maria going is the best news of the transfer window so far. Secondly bigheaded Zlat the prat will hopefully stay in Paris where his big nose will form a snot and wax partnership with big ears when he arrives from United. Thirdly, whether or not Ramos stays at Madrid, Otamendi would be a better buy. Younger and more likely to stay on the pitch for ninety minutes Ramos would be his stand-in.
In the dodgy team you have picked there is no Mata or Herrera. Either of them would be a better pick than the fat Scouse mercenary who should have been sold to Chelsea two years ago when he threw his toys out of the pram for the SECOND time. You also don’t appear to have made any allowance for Pedro, who is more likely to be signed than HIM or Zlat the prat. So, all in all, it’s a pretty useless article with a lot of supposition, but good to pull to pieces.
