Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is one of the best operators that we have seen in the transfer market and if he did make a move for Manchester United’s on loan star Radamel Falcao, as is being mooted in The Guardian, we think that he could well turn water into wine again.
Because we have had a sneaking feeling all season that Falcao still has true class. He clearly needed games to return full match fitness and, although his stats says that he turned out 29 times for United this season, most of those were late cameo appearances.
Chelsea might be perfect for the player who has scored 24 in 55 for Colombia and a remarkable 204 goals in 334 club games during his amazing career. With Diego Costa the first choice in a system which only uses one striker, the pressure would be off for Falcao, who could once more hone his goalscoring instincts under the tutelage of the brilliant Chelsea manager.
We think that Falcao may yet come back to haunt his first Premier League side and if Chelsea can negotiate his wages down somewhat, they may rediscover the Falcao who single-handedly destroyed them in the Super Cup a couple of years back.
Let’s see the lad in action. Chelsea fans: keen?
