What better way to end a hugely disappointing week for Liverpool than to get some potentially positive news on the transfer front?
With a huge cloud hanging over the pint-sized frame of Raheem Sterling Liverpool may have another Suarezesque summer on their hands. We have always maintained that we think he will stay at the club. But the events of the last week certainly haven’t made us any more confident of that notion.
But Liverpool have been linked with a really exciting player who we feel would be a great addition to the team. The Daily Mail reports this weekend:
Argentine Paulo Dybala, dubbed by Palermo president Mauricio Zamparini as ‘the new Sergio Aguero’, is set to be on his way to the Premier League this summer.
The destination depends on the outcome of the Sterling saga but both Liverpool and Arsenal are in for the 21-year-old.
This guy is so very special. It’s impossible to say for sure whether all of his potential will be fulfilled, but if he continues on this trajectory he will be regarded as one of the elite footballers in the world in a few years time.
At 21, he’s already holding his own for a mediocre club in Serie A with 21 goals in 88 games for Palermo. The reason that he has been likened to Aguero is that he’s comparatively small, really quick and loves to surprise defenders by striking the ball early. We think that Liverpool would be doing very well to sign him as he’s surely going to interest a huge number of top clubs this summer. Whats more, his club have reluctantly accepted that it will be difficult to hold onto him.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Liverpool faithful: is this what you need?
