Arsenal fans will be waiting expectantly for news of arrivals in the last few days of the window.
While this one isn’t exactly that, the confirmation of Joel Campbell’s move to Villarreal may further smooth the passage for Arsenal’s top target, Gabriel Paulista, to finally complete his move.
It seems that the Paulista deal is now inevitable after he was granted an EU work permit ahead of his prospective move to Arsenal.
And Joel Campbell has taken to Twitter to confirm that he has made a loan move to Spain.
…and the player has been pictured with all the Villarreal clobber on too:
Campbell is an exciting prospect – a fact that is perhaps reflected in the temporary nature of the deal – but he hasn’t made much of an impact at Arsenal this season.
He has shown some moments of magic in his ten appearances for the club since returning from another loan move
to Olympiacos. But, with such a talented attacking line up at Arsenal, he was always going to struggle to get look in.
We imagine that this loan will be his last chance to prove that he has the form to play for Arsenal. If he doesn’t ecxplode in the second half of the season in Spain then perhaps a permanent transfer will be on the cards this summer.
