Apart from Manchester City of course, most Premier League clubs seem to have retained a poker face for the January transfer window so far.
But with so many teams in need of reinforcements, you can’t imagine it’s going to stay quiet for too much longer. Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, in particular, seem in need of investment.
But after the debacle with all of the incoming players at the start of last season, Tottenham are clearly being a little bit more prudent this season – biding their time until the right players come along.
The Daily Mail reports today that Tottenham have made an enquiry about the excellent Belgian wide man Kevin Mirallas. They continue the story about Konoplyanka being pursued by the club but add the Mirallas twist for good measure.
He hasn’t been on top form this season – that may have something to do with the fact that he doesn’t have much time left on his contract so he’s got a big decision to make over the next six months.
Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have all made enquiries about Everton forward Kevin Mirallas.
A solid and clever winger with a great engine, the 27 year old moved to England form Olympiacos in 2012, where he banged in 34 in just 67 games. He hasn’t been quite as prolific in The Premier League but still has 25 goals in 89 appearances. He has also become a stalwart of the Belgian side with 49 caps and 9 goals to his name.
We believe he would be a good signing for Tottenham. Let’s have a look at him in action. Tottenham fans would you rather go for Mirallas or Konoplyanka?

The 2 most important questions for Levy and Spurs are, who is younger and who is cheaper?

Konoplyanka is pure class and far more talented than any current Spurs winger.
Spurs have had special gifted players in the past and he would definitely be one of them.

Sure, Spurs have had a couple of dud Russians in their ranks in the past, Sergio Rebrov and Roman Pavlichenko however, the Russians have got some tremendous players in their ranks and some of you may remember Andrai Kanchelkis at ManU. What a player he was. This fellow Konoplyanka reminds me of him in many ways. Just because we bought a couple of flops in the past doesn’t mean that we will do the same again. Just imagine if that lot from down the road bought him and he proceeded to tear us a new arsehole every time he plays against us, what do you think the outcry would be. If the price is right, I think that we should take a punt. The boy is better than Lennon and Townsend put together.
