Where to start with Tottenham right now?

Well we actually think that their deficiencies are quite obvious and straightforward.

Yes, they need another really commanding and charismatic centre back to solidify that defence. And in front of them Tottenham could most certainly use a Schneiderlin type – an unsung hero to pop the ball around accurately an mop up loose balls.

But we believe that the reason Tottenham’s defence looks so shaky is that they have so much defending to do. Stay with us!

If Tottenham’s attack was more powerful, quicker and more precise, the defence wouldn’t be constantly under the spotlight.

Look at Liverpool last year and this. Few were focusing on their shaky defence when they were scoring goals left right and centre. Sturridge and Suarez took all the pressure off the defence by scoring goals and offering constant threat. Without those two the scrutiny is back on a defence which has seen £40m plus of summer investment.

So, in summary, Tottenham need more firepower. They have creators but need more finishers.

So how about Saido Berahino? He’s just 21 and his career could still go either way.

But he’s surprised us with the composure of his finishing to add to his obvious and blistering pace. He’s a decent, exciting bet and if it doesn’t work out Spurs will get most of their money back when he moves on. He’s still so young after all.

Certainly the bookies think that Tottenham will snare him soon. Skybet have Spurs as 4/1 favourites to sign the England man if he does move in the coming window. And Bet Victor also have Tottenham as favourites for his signature, should he move on.

Let’s see the lad in action. Spurs fans: is this guy good enough to go straight into the team?
