Some players spend years trying to rediscover their once prolific goal scoring form. Players like Kaka, Shevchenko and Torres lost the knack and struggled for long periods to rediscover it.
But Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo simply can’t stop banging them in. 17 in 11 games for Real Madrid this season tells the story of a man who, at 29, could be about to have the best goal-scoring season of his unbelievable career.
And he’s also netting crucial goals for his country too. This one came in the dieing moments of a game which looked as if it would be a 0-0 but instead elevates Portugal from their surprising position at the bottom of the group to third.
That’s 4 goals in 7 appearances for Portugal in this calendar year for a player who, lest we forget, isn’t even a specialist centre forward.
In other news, doctors say that the niggling injuries that he has had of late are under control. Dr. Ripoli, a FIFA accredited practitioner is quoted in Marca as saying:
“There’s no reason for concern. Only 10% of these injuries require surgery”,
So may the scoring continue! Real Madrid fans: will Ronaldo break his previous Real Madrid goal scoring record of 60 this season?
