Now this one is very exciting for Liverpool fans. They have done great business in most departments but have been fumbling their way around the market for a striker all summer and may have finally landed one – and a very good one at that.
Some people believe that Liverpool will be jumping out the frying pan and straight into the fire if they replace Luis Suarez with Mario Balotelli.
But Brendan Rodgers has great man-management skills and all that the Italian needs is some love.
If he gets that then Liverpool will have a top international player and an absolute bargain at £16 million.
We are amazed that no one else has shown serious interest in the player and we are really pleased for Liverpool because they desperately need to add another top-quality striker to their ranks.
The Daily Mail says a deal has been agreed with AC Milan:
Liverpool agree £16m fee for Mario Balotelli with AC Milan as striker prepares for Premier League return
and the player has publicly stoked the fires of specco:
Balotelli earlier told Sky Italia: ‘This will be my last day at Milanello.’
It is impossible to replace Suarez of course. But if Sturridge gets injured then Liverpool will look particularly thin up top without an extra striker.
At just 24 years of age Balotelli is coming into his absolute prime. He’s got power, pace and really good ball control – there is very little not to like about the player apart from that slightly dodgy temperament of course.
But he does have character and he will pull Liverpool through tough games in The Champions League and at home this season.
All in all, Liverpool signing Balotelli will be one of the best deals of the summer, as far as we’re concerned.
Let’s have a look at the Lad in action. Liverpool fans: made up with this one?
