It really is approaching silly season in the transfer window now as the speculation intensifies by the day.
With The Premier League starting this week managers will be feverishly trying to put the final plans into place and get players in before that opener.
Chelsea say that they have finished their business for the summer and it could well be the case. But rumours nevertheless persist of additional arrivals.
The Metro has reported that Chelsea might try to hijack Manchester United’s move for the brilliant Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.
Coming into the game at this stage of proceedings with Barcelona also interested seems fairly unrealistic.
But when you look at Chelsea’s right side Juan Cuadrado would immediately improve the team.
Because although Chelsea have players like William and Salah who can play on the right side Cuadrado is a special talent who could command that right flank like nobody else in the current Chelsea squad.
In terms of his work rate and ability to track back he is definitely a Mourinho style player and we wonder whether there could be substance to this one. As we know Chelsea are generally very decisive in the transfer market so perhaps they can pull another rabbit out of the hat over the next few days.
Let’s take a look at Cuadrado in action.
